ResumoFrom a management point of view, considering increasingly lean and controlled budgets, and a restricted schedule there is a need to find cheaper and more viable alternatives for the present scenario related to commercial electronics parts. On the other hand, the increasing offer of COTS (Commercial Off The Shelf) and the higher quality manufacture are a good opportunity to use COTS components in electronic projects for small satellites in short and medium-term missions, through a coherent study that combines the restrictions and advantages mentioned above, a method that indicates the best COTS for the systems engineer and/or project can be of great usefulness.
